Financial Analysis Certificate Program
Starting September 2025, we're running a hands-on program for people who want to understand financial software from the ground up. Not just how to click buttons, but why certain data matters and how to spot what's actually worth your attention.
Most folks who join us work in small businesses or handle accounts for family companies. They're tired of feeling lost in spreadsheets or second-guessing their software choices. This program walks through real scenarios, breaks down actual reports, and shows you how to build confidence with the tools you already use.
We keep groups deliberately small because you'll get stuck sometimes. Everyone does. And when that happens, you need someone who can look at your specific situation and help you figure it out without making you feel daft.
Core Learning Areas
Reading Financial Reports
We start with the stuff that confused me for years. Cash flow statements, balance sheets, profit and loss reports. You'll learn what each number actually tells you about business health and which ones deserve your immediate attention.
Software Selection & Setup
Not all businesses need the same tools. We cover popular options used across Australia, walk through what different packages actually do well, and help you match features to your real needs rather than marketing promises.
Spotting Problems Early
The best analysis happens before things go wrong. You'll practice identifying warning signs in data patterns, setting up alerts that matter, and building simple dashboards that show you what's changing week to week.
Practical Forecasting Methods
Forecasting doesn't mean crystal balls. It means using historical patterns to make reasonable estimates. We teach straightforward methods that work for Australian small businesses without requiring a maths degree or fancy consulting fees.
Who You'll Learn From
Our instructors have spent years working with Australian businesses. They understand regional challenges, local regulations, and the practical constraints most small operations face every day.
Freja Lindström
Financial Systems Specialist
Freja helped transition seventeen regional businesses from manual bookkeeping to integrated software between 2020 and 2024. She's particularly good at explaining complex processes in plain language and has endless patience for troubleshooting setup problems. Before teaching, she managed accounts for a manufacturing company in Albury for eight years.
Anwen Pritchard
Data Analysis Consultant
Anwen worked in financial planning for retail businesses throughout regional NSW before moving into education. She knows what it's like to stare at a spreadsheet at midnight wondering if your calculations make sense. Her sessions focus on building systematic approaches that reduce second-guessing and help you trust your own analysis.
Siobhan Rafferty
Accounting Software Trainer
Siobhan spent twelve years implementing financial software for agricultural businesses across western NSW. She understands seasonal cash flow challenges and the unique reporting needs of Australian primary producers. Her teaching style is straightforward and practical, with lots of real examples from businesses she's worked with directly.
